Partner Highlight: Impact Nations

The collaboration between Impact Nations and Thrive for Good grew out of a shared realization: while providing immediate food aid is vital, long-term health requires a sustainable solution. Impact Nations believes the Kingdom of God has the power to transform all areas of life.
When we are supporting vulnerable communities, Thrive’s platform provides organic gardening expertise, enabling our Global Partners to move beyond temporary relief. By investing together, we aren’t just planting gardens; we are creating a foundation for healthy, sustainable communities where freedom from malnutrition is possible.
General Objectives and Goals
The overarching goal of this partnership is to establish a self-sustaining ecosystem of health and economic resilience. By implementing Thrive’s Life-Giving Gardens, we aim to:
- Combat Malnutrition: Increase access to organic, nutrient-dense foods that serve as natural medicine and meet the daily nutritional needs of beneficiaries.
- Empower Through Education: Provide comprehensive training in sustainable, organic farming techniques that require minimal capital but yield maximum nutrition.
- Foster Economic Resilience: Enable programs to grow their own food—reducing operational costs—and generate income by selling surplus produce at local markets to fund essential community initiatives.
How the partnership has benefited people:
1. The Remnant Generation

For a young girl arriving at a safe shelter after experiencing abuse or an unexpected pregnancy, the future can feel uncertain and fragile. The Remnant Generation (TRG) in Uganda meets her in that moment, with care, counselling, and a path toward restoration. Today, through the partnership with Thrive for Good, that path is being transformed even further. Thrive’s garden-based initiative is helping to change the story, from one defined by survival to one rooted in dignity, provision, and hope.
In the small spaces surrounding the shelter, something powerful begins to grow. In January 2023, through the establishment of keyhole and sack gardens within safe shelter environments, participants moved beyond short-term support to long-term self-reliance. This “learn-as-you-earn” model ensures that girls not only gain technical knowledge, but also apply it immediately, producing food for themselves and their children while developing income-generating pathways they can replicate at home.
What starts as a simple garden becomes a daily source of nourishment, confidence, and possibility. The vision of this partnership started with training 2 Growing Health Champions who will mentor others, establish 10 life gardens across 2.5 acres, and impact at least 400 community members. This initial idea has been multiplied, carrying this knowledge forward into families and neighbourhoods. This is how change takes root. Not as a one-time intervention, but as a living system that grows, feeds, and multiplies.
Testimony:
“The Thrive Gardens at The Remnant Generation have been a source of food for our TRG Shelters and staff. We had a conversation with one of our staff members in charge of the Health Department, Joan Namakula. Joan says that from the farm’s harvest of carrots and cabbage, she was able to take some home to her family. Joan is the breadwinner in her family, and these vegetables helped reduce her food budget because they supported her household meals for a week.
‘I got a meal for a week for my children and me,’ says Kizza Esther. ‘When food came from the farm, I was given cabbage and sukuma wiki. This was a blessing to me because we had vegetables that we could eat for a week, and I didn’t have to worry about what we were going to eat.’
Thank You Impact Nations, thank you Thrive for Good!”

2. River of Life Malawi

In the heart of the community, where access to health services and stable livelihoods has often been limited, River of Life has become a steady presence of care and transformation. Through its Health Centre, child education sponsorship, and programs focused on gender equality, youth development, human trafficking prevention, women’s empowerment, and human rights, the organization supports families as they work toward dignity, stability, and long-term wellbeing.
In December 2022, this work took on a new dimension through collaboration with Thrive for Good, bringing continuous training in organic gardening and nutrition into the community. Together, they trained 3 Growing Health Champions, who established a ¼ acre community demonstration garden. More than a plot of land, it became a living classroom where families learn how nutrition, health, and sustainable food production are deeply connected, building practical skills they can apply in their daily lives. This initiative was designed for growth and lasting impact. The demonstration garden was intended to expand into 3 hectares, directly reaching at least 15 families while influencing many more through shared learning and replication.
Testimony:
“I am happy to share our testimony and some of the benefits of our Thrive gardens with you. Our community garden has been a game-changer for our community members, their families, and their health, as the River of Life organization comes together with community members to grow fresh produce, share knowledge, and support each other.
Because of River of Life and Thrive, I am proud of our community’s hard work. We have planted mustard, eggplant, cabbage, tomatoes, maize, onion and banana, just to name a few. As an organization, the community garden not only grows fresh food but also helps feed and support our girls at the shelter by providing daily meals for 22 girls. Together, we are nurturing bodies and hearts for the entire team. Thanks to Thrive for Good, Carien, our project leader and also Impact Nations.”
