Douglas leads our garden projects in the Kipsongo slum located in Kitale, Kenya. Douglas has been working for Thrive for more than 5 years. Douglas focuses on teaching people how to harvest greens, grind them and incorporate them into their food so that they can boost the nutrient density of their foods. Before joining the organization, Douglas suffered from malaria 4 times a year. The first year of being involved with Thrive, Douglas fell sick twice from malaria. As he continued to take Artemisia tea daily, he got sick less and less. Since then Douglas has been free from malaria. Douglas and his family are now living disease-free!
